I have been experimenting with fabric buttons and how they can be used and I have this week recycled a bunch of old fabric buttons by recovering them , maybe re cycled is the wrong word, however I think they look a lot more interesting now.
Good for bags or cushions I am now on the hunt for more big buttons from " Granny " coats you know what I mean

When you come across a beautifully organized box of tools of the trade like this it is so hard to split them!
Most of these including the amazing dress label are of the 1920's time with one or two earlier bits.

I am just back from my annual visit to the Festival of Quilts held at the NEC, Birmingham. I wouldn't miss it and this year it was doubtful if I could go as my husband was ill but he recovered and I was all set. I had started to come down with something the week before but ignored it and made my way to Birmingham with my friends and a sore throat and hacking cough. Luckily I had a room on my own!!
